Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT AGES DO YOU SEE?

I work mostly with individual adults ages 18+ and reserve a few spots for younger persons upon request.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

In-person hours are Wednesday and Thursdays: 10am-7pm, with some weekend and evening availability. Virtual hours are offered Tuesday-Friday: 10am-7pm (with some weekend and evenings), depending on availability. I am committed to responding to all scheduling inquiries within 48 hours.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

I am located in West Ashley at 1 Carriage Lane, B102, Charleston, SC, 29407, and have availability for telehealth appointments for all of South Carolina.

DO YOU OFFER TELEHEALTH OR IN PERSON THERAPY?

Both! I am available for telehealth appointments for all of South Carolina, and in-person for those local to Charleston, SC.

DO YOU ONLY SEE PEOPLE RELATED TO YOUR SPECIALTIES?

It’s helpful for therapists to clarify their niches, but they are not the only areas in which I work! General issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, women’s issues/identity, trauma, life transitions, etc. are absolutely areas in which I offer holistic processing and healing support. Call or email today for a consultation to find out if we may be the right fit, or how I can help with a referral.

WHAT IS YOUR COUNSELING STYLE?

I work in a warm and relational style that values unfiltered honesty (swear as much as you want!), collaboration between therapist and client, and room for a sense of humor in the midst of an often difficult process. I use a variety of approaches to talk therapy including internal family systems, inner child and parts work, and emotions focused therapy. I am also trained in EMDR, an evidence-based approach that helps to catalyze healing from trauma or difficult life events that keep us “stuck” in the same patterns and emotions. I enjoy working with clients who really want to get to the root of what is showing up in their life to create lasting change and healing. I have a special passion for supporting those who work in academia, creative and artistic industries, hospitality, and medical professionals including animal medicine.

WHY LABYRINTH?

Life can often feel like a maze, an intentionally confounding riddle with no clear way through. Labyrinths are structured differently than mazes, with a unicursal path to the center that serves as a meditative guide, rather than a pathway that needs solving. Labyrinths teach us that we weren’t born to get life done, but to be fully here. They challenge our linear, achievement-based mindsets, encouraging us that there are no parts or places in ourselves that aren’t worth revisiting in the midst of gradual and complex self-discovery.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

The best way to make an appointment is to leave a voicemail on my confidential line at 843-212-7061, email me at abigail@labyrinth-counseling.com, or fill out the contact form on this website. I will respond within 24-48 hours. If this is your first time looking into therapy, I’m so glad you’re here! It’s normal to feel anxious calling someone you don’t know for help. I will do everything I can to make the intake process as smooth as possible.

DO YOU TAKE COUPLES?

While I mostly see individuals, I do have openings for couples, especially couples and partnerships wrestling through issues regarding climate change and their future.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

Individual 50-minute session: $125
Couples 60-minute session: $150
90-minute follow-up individual session: $150

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including therapy services. Contact me or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises for more information.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not accept insurance at this time and can provide a superbill for insurance providers upon request.
